There was once a little girl called Chun Mun. She lived in a village close to the forest. Everyday Chun Mun would go into the forest and learn music from her friends there – the birds and animals. But one of her friends Chintu, the black ant, would always be very busy and would have no time for such beautiful things. Nevertheless he was very curious to know what Chun Mun did in the forest. So one Sunday, when Chintu had no work to do, he asked Chun Mun –

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
And Chun Mun replied –
I saw a beautiful peacock
Dancing before me.
Chintu was very excited. He wanted to know more. He went on –

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a spotted deer
Running away from me.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a green parrot
Flying high above me.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a muddy turtle
Crawling slowly to me.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a naughty monkey
Hanging from a tree.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a bunny rabbit
Hopping toward me.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a yellow snake
Gliding away from me.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you see?
I saw a magnificent horse
Galloping far from me.

The next Sunday, Chintu wanted to know what Chun Mun heard in the forest. So he asked –

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
And Chun Mun answered –
I heard a barn owl
Hooting in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a mummy elephant

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a little sparrow

Twittering in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard ten chimps
Chattering in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a green parrot
Screeching in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a mad duck
Quacking in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard the yellow canaries
Singing in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a mighty lion
Roaring in my ear.

Chun Mun, Chun Mun,
What did you hear?
I heard a silly crow
Cawing in my ear.

Chintu was very happy on learning so many new things. He crawled upto Chun Mun’s cheek and gave her a big kiss. “Thank you, Chun Mun”, he said. “Will you take me to the forest with you next Sunday?” “Of course Chintu! I shall be most happy to. And, Goodnight!” said Chun Mun. So if you go to the forest on a Sunday, you can see Chun Mun and Chintu learning so many things there.
