Deep-sea prawns are often bright red in colour. They use the red colour as camouflage, as red is difficult to see in deep waters and many deep-sea fish are colour blind and cannot see red. One fish, though, has eyes that can pick up red. It also shines its own red light to hunt for the prawns.
