“ROAR!” growled the lion. “Everyone is scared of me!”

“HRMPHH!” trumpeted the elephant. “Everyone is scared of me!”

“What about me?” purred the panther. “I, too, frighten everyone!”

“No one can run faster than me!” snarled the cheetah. “Everyone is scared of
me!”

“GROWL!” growled the tiger, baring his teeth. “I dare any one to cross my
path! I’ll gobble them up!”

“HA! HA! HA!” sniggered the hyena. “See everyone slink away when they hear us
laugh!”

“HOOOOOOOO!” wailed the wolf. “I dare anyone to come and walk with me!”
It was boasting time in the jungle.

“SCREECH!” screeched the eagle, perching himself on the old oak tree. “Everyone flees when I swoop down! Nothing escapes my sharp eyes. All are scared of me!”

“POOH!” snorted the elephant. “Only the little creatures are scared of you! Not me!”

The others nodded their heads.

The vulture looked down balefully.

“What about me?” he said. “I spell doom to those I hover over!”

The others shuddered! They knew that if the vulture ever came near, it meant death
was near.

“No one comes near me!” said the jackal.

“You’re cunning, that’s why!” retorted the tiger. “No one is scared of you!”

The monkey was swinging on top of the oak tree.

“YOU ARE NOT BRAVE!” shouted the monkey.

“Come down, you insolent, puny creature!” snarled the wolf.

“Shall I climb the tree and gobble him up?” asked the cheetah, his tawny eyes blazing
with anger.

“I’ll tell you whom you are scared of!” yelled the monkey.

“MEEEEE!” squealed a voice.

“Who spoke?” roared the lion.

“MEEEEE!” squealed the voice again. “The Mighty ANT! Can I rest inside your BIG ears, elephant? My dear, dear friend! I want to BITE you!”
